Job Description
Universal Electronics, Inc. has over 30 years experience in the EMS industry.  Headquartered in our Whitewater, WI facility, Universal Electronics, Inc. supports over 50 customers and 500 printed circuit board assemblies and sub assemblies.  We manufacture for customers in the medical, test equipment, industrial, agricultural, and scientific instrumentation.

Process Engineering Technician

This position is in our East Troy, WI facility and reports directly to the Process Engineer.
 
The Process Engineer Technician will draw on his/her experience to develop a flexible manufacturing model for assemblies. With this model, you will assist other areas of engineering to introduce new products into production. Once into production, the Process Engineer Technician will provide support to the production teams to ensure high levels of quality, low cost and on time delivery. The Process Engineer Technician will also provide leadership to the engineering and production groups implementing lean manufacturing principles throughout the facility, improving efficiency and capacity.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key responsibilities:
  • Assists in maintaining/creating process documentation.
  • Assists with creating and maintaining production equipment programs and recipes.
  • Assists Process Engineer with special tasks as required.
  • Implement product changes in documentation and all production equipment programs/recipes.
  • Minor production equipment trouble shooting for function or processes issues.
  • Provides support to production teams when questions arise regarding assembly instructions.
  • Provide backup support to Process Engineer.
 
Education/Job Experience
 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong computer knowledge necessary in Windows Office
  • An understanding electronic assembly processes
  • Similar job experience desired
  • Attention to detail
  • Microsoft office
 
Training
 
  • ERP Software
  • Unicam
  • Production equipment programming/recipe creation
  • UEI 2’s Quality Management System as it relates to the Quality Policy and job-specific Quality Procedures, Forms, and Work Instructions.
 
Skills
 
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Must be detail oriented.
